Safety and environmental performance are Minnesota Pipe Line Company’s top priorities. Ensuring the mechanical integrity of the pipeline systems we operate helps us protect people and the environment, while meeting the needs of our customers.

The MPL system is maintained by Koch Pipeline Company, L.P. (KPL). KPL’s Pipeline Integrity Management Program helps us ensure the mechanical integrity of the pipeline systems we operate, comply with applicable laws and regulations, and protect people and the environment while meeting the needs of our customers. The program assists KPL in preventing releases, educating the public about pipeline safety, and identifying and implementing improvements to our operations.

KPL monitors pipelines 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at our pipeline control center and through regularly scheduled aerial and walking patrols. KPL also performs in-line inspections and pressure testing on a regular basis to ensure the safety and reliability of its systems.

A key component of our safety commitment is our ongoing Public Awareness program, which includes mailing pipeline education and public safety brochures to neighbors who live or work near our pipeline systems. These brochures may be downloaded here.
